Ayurvedic mentorship for women
REWRITING THE STORY OF MIDLIFE
for the modern woman
I don't believe the second half of a woman's life is meant to be spent surviving her responsibilities. I believe it can become the most honest, vibrant and deeply fulfilling chapter she has ever lived.
Pillar one
Ayurvedic Wisdom
The oldest continuous system of medicine on earth, translated into practices that fit a real life — not another regimen to fail at.
Pillar two
Embodiment
Coming back into the body you have spent years thinking your way out of. Noticing what you feel before it becomes a symptom.
Pillar three
Courageous Self-Leadership
The willingness to stop abandoning yourself, and to lead your own life rather than manage everyone else's.
I know what it feels like to slowly disappear inside your own life.

About Nicole
Nicki Starkman
Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner · Women's Coach
Kundalini & Meditation Facilitator · Women's Circle Leader
There was a time in my life when I looked like I had everything together.
I was showing up for my family, working hard, keeping the plates spinning and doing what I believed strong women were supposed to do. But underneath all of that, I was exhausted. Not the kind of tired that disappears after a good night's sleep. The kind that settles into your body when you've spent years living for everyone except yourself.
For a long time I believed I simply needed to try harder. Be more disciplined. Push through. Stay positive. Like so many women, I mistook disconnection for personal failure.
"I know what it feels like to slowly disappear inside your own life."
Then Ayurveda entered my life.
"Exhaustion has a story."
Not as another wellness trend or a list of rules to follow, but as an entirely different way of understanding myself. It taught me that the body is always communicating. That exhaustion has a story. That symptoms are not inconveniences to silence but messages inviting us to pay attention.
As I began applying these teachings, everything started to shift. My energy returned. My thinking became clearer. I stopped reacting to my life and started leading it with intention.
What changed
That transformation changed the direction of my work.
Today I guide women who have spent years caring for everyone else and have reached the point where they know something has to change.
These are women who have built beautiful lives but no longer recognize themselves inside them. Women who are successful by every outward measure yet quietly wonder where they went.
"Successful by every outward measure — yet quietly wondering where they went."
My work is rooted in Ayurveda, but it doesn't stop there.
I blend timeless Ayurvedic wisdom with embodied practices, honest coaching, nervous system regulation, and practical self-leadership. Together we look beyond symptoms and habits to understand the patterns that have kept you disconnected from yourself.
From there, we begin creating a different way of living — one that feels sustainable, deeply aligned, and fully your own.
This isn't about becoming someone new.
It's about removing everything that has kept you from living as the woman you already are.
Whether we're sitting together in a women's circle, working one-to-one, or journeying through my 8-Week Ayurvedic Feminine Form Intensive, my commitment is the same: to offer a space where truth is welcomed, growth is expected, and lasting change becomes possible.
We've spent generations teaching women to fit into boxes that were never built for them. My work is helping them remember they were never meant to live there.

The name
Why Amari Veda
Abhyanga is the Ayurvedic practice of massaging warm oil into the whole body — slow, deliberate, daily.
It is the oldest form of self-care in the tradition, and the clearest expression of what this work asks of you: not force, but nourishment. Not fixing what is broken, but softening what has been held too tightly for too long. Oil does not pry anything open. It makes letting go possible.
More on the practiceThe tradition
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest systems of health, developed in India over 5,000 years ago.
The word Ayurveda comes from the Sanskrit words Ayur (life) and Veda (knowledge or wisdom), often translated as "the wisdom of life."
Rather than focusing on isolated symptoms, Ayurveda understands health as the dynamic relationship between the body, mind, environment, and the rhythms of daily life. It recognizes that each person has a unique constitution, and that true wellbeing comes from living in a way that supports that individuality — not from following a one-size-fits-all approach.
At its core, Ayurveda is both preventative and restorative. It teaches us to recognize the subtle ways our bodies communicate through digestion, sleep, energy, emotions, and vitality long before illness develops. By making intentional adjustments to our nourishment, daily routines, movement, rest, and seasonal practices, we begin restoring balance instead of continually compensating for imbalance.
For modern women, Ayurveda offers something increasingly rare: a practical framework for understanding yourself. It reminds us that our bodies are not problems to overcome, but intelligent systems designed to guide us toward health when we learn how to listen.
It isn't another wellness trend.
It's a timeless way of living that helps us return to ourselves.
The three doshas
Every body runs on a different blend
Doshas are functional energies made of the elements. Everyone holds all three; your particular proportion is your constitution. When one drifts far from its baseline, symptoms follow.
Vata
Air & EtherMovement, circulation, nerve signal, thought. Out of balance: anxiety, dryness, insomnia, racing mind, irregular digestion. Vata rises with age, stress and skipped meals — and it is what warm oil most directly settles.
Pitta
Fire & WaterDigestion, metabolism, clarity, drive. Out of balance: heat, inflammation, reflux, skin flare-ups, irritability, and the inability to stop working. Many capable women run hot here and call it ambition.
Kapha
Earth & WaterStructure, immunity, lubrication, steadiness. Out of balance: heaviness, congestion, fluid retention, sluggish mornings, and a low flat mood that resists getting started.
Working ideas
Four terms you'll hear in this work
Digestive fire
Not just stomach digestion — your capacity to break down food, experience and emotion. When agni is strong you metabolise your life.
Residue
What accumulates when agni cannot keep up. Heaviness, fog, dull skin, a general sense of being clogged.
Vital reserve
The refined product of good digestion and good rest — resilience, immunity, steadiness. What chronic depletion spends first.
Daily rhythm
The ordered shape of a day — when you wake, eat, move, oil, rest. The least glamorous part of Ayurveda, and the part that changes the most.
Abhyanga · ab-hee-YUN-guh
Abhyanga — the power of oil
Abhi (अभि) — toward, into, upon, all around
Aṅga (अङ्ग) — limb, body, or part of the body
So Abhyanga (अभ्यङ्ग) literally means: to anoint the body.
Abhyanga is the Ayurvedic practice of applying warm herbal oil to the body through intentional self-massage. More than skin care, it is considered one of Ayurveda's most important daily rituals for supporting overall health and longevity.
The skin is the body's largest organ and one of its primary pathways for connection with the world around us. Through the slow, rhythmic application of warm oil, Abhyanga nourishes the tissues, supports healthy circulation and lymphatic flow, lubricates the joints, and helps calm the nervous system. Traditionally, it is recommended as part of Dinacharya — Ayurveda's daily rhythm of self-care — to promote resilience, vitality, and healthy aging.
For many modern women, however, the greatest benefit isn't simply physical. It is the opportunity to pause. To step out of the constant habit of giving your energy away and spend a few intentional moments caring for your own body. In a culture that celebrates doing more, Abhyanga is a quiet practice of returning to yourself.
A few minutes each day can become more than a ritual.
It can become a relationship with the body that's been carrying you all along.

The whole practice, written down: choosing your oil, warming it, where to begin, how long to let it rest — inside a wider guide to daily rhythm and coming back to yourself.

Care notes. Abhyanga is generally avoided during menstruation, acute illness or fever, over an acute injury, and in pregnancy without guidance from a qualified practitioner. It is not a substitute for medical care.
Midlife
Not a crisis. A threshold.
For many women, midlife isn't a crisis. It's a threshold. A quiet realization that the life you've built no longer fits the woman you're becoming. The old ways of pushing, performing, and putting yourself last simply stop working.
This is where Ayurveda becomes more than a system of health. It becomes a way of understanding yourself. Rather than offering one solution for every woman, Ayurveda recognizes your unique nature and asks a different question: What would bring you back into balance?
What am I carrying that no longer belongs to me?
What deserves my energy now?
What has my body been telling me?
That question is at the heart of my work. By blending the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda with coaching and embodied practices, I help women reconnect with their bodies, reclaim their energy, and create a life that feels deeply aligned with who they are now.

The 8-Week Ayurvedic Feminine Form Intensive
A transformational experience for women who are ready to move beyond simply managing exhaustion, stress, and the demands of everyday life.
"It is about returning to yourself."
This program weaves together the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda, embodied practices, and powerful coaching to help women reconnect with themselves from the inside out. Rather than offering another self-care routine or quick fix, the intensive guides women through a process of understanding the patterns that have shaped how they live, care for others, and often neglect themselves.
Throughout eight weeks, participants learn practical Ayurvedic principles, cultivate daily rituals that support lasting vitality, deepen awareness of the connection between body, mind, and emotions, and develop the courage to make choices that honour who they truly are. The result is greater clarity, sustainable energy, emotional resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.
This is not about escaping life — it is about returning to yourself so you can lead your life with intention, presence, and confidence.
Because the second half of life is not meant to be spent surviving your roles; it is an opportunity to reclaim the woman underneath them.
What you'll build
Over eight weeks
Practical Ayurveda

Body, mind and emotion
Deepening awareness of how the three move together, so you notice what you feel before it becomes a symptom.
Choices that honour you
The self-leadership to make decisions that reflect who you truly are, and to hold them when life pushes back.

Ancient wisdom · Honest conversation · Deep connection
Women's Circles
For the past five years, women have gathered in this circle month after month because they've found something that's becoming increasingly rare — a place where they can simply be.
"A place where they can simply be."
This isn't a room for small talk or surface conversation. It's a space where women speak honestly about the lives they're living, the challenges they're carrying, and the women they're becoming. Together we laugh, grieve, question, celebrate, and witness one another with compassion and courage.
Each gathering is intentionally designed, weaving together the wisdom of Ayurveda with meditation, embodiment, journaling, seasonal ritual, and meaningful dialogue.
We explore the conversations that matter: identity, relationships, boundaries, purpose, self-worth, resilience, and the quiet knowing that something within us is asking to be lived more fully.
Woven through every evening
What we do together
The wisdom of Ayurveda, chosen for the season and for the women in the room.
Settling first, so the conversation comes from somewhere quieter than the day you arrived from.
Practices that bring you back into the body rather than talking about it from a distance.
Space to write down what surfaces, in your own words, before it slips away.
Seasonal ritual to mark the evening and carry home with you.
Meaningful conversation — each voice heard, no advice-giving, no fixing.
You'll leave feeling more connected — to yourself, to other women, and to the wisdom you've carried all along.
Sitting in a space with women who are ready to do the work is world altering. The groundedness and realness of Nicki holding space for us felt like a soft place to land. She is a powerhouse.
A woman from the circle
Circles run monthly. I'll let you know when the next one opens.
Or gather your own
Private Women's Gatherings
You gather the women. I'll create the experience.

Private Women's Gatherings
You gather the women. I'll create the experience.
There are moments in a woman's life that deserve more than a dinner, a party, or another evening spent rushing around making sure everyone else is taken care of.
A Private Women's Gathering is a fully curated experience created around the woman, the occasion, and the feeling you want to bring into the room. You choose the women, the space, and what you want the gathering to honour. I take care of the rest.
Together, we'll shape an experience that feels personal, meaningful, and completely your own. It may be created to honour a soon-to-be mother, celebrate a bride, bless a new home, mark a birthday or life transition, gather beneath the moon, or simply bring a group of women together in a more intentional way.
No two gatherings are the same. The theme, practices, conversation, ritual, and overall atmosphere are designed in collaboration with you.
How it works
Three steps
We plan
A private planning conversation where we explore the occasion, the women attending, the space, and how you want the gathering to feel.
I create
Depending on your vision, the gathering may weave together Ayurveda, meditation, embodiment, guided reflection, meaningful conversation, seasonal wisdom, journaling, ritual, or ceremony.
I lead
I arrive with everything needed and lead the gathering from beginning to end, allowing you to participate fully rather than manage the room.
Your only responsibility is to prepare the space and welcome your guests.
Your gathering includes
- A private planning and curation session
- A theme created around your occasion and intention
- A fully guided women's circle experience
- Thoughtfully selected practices, teachings, and reflection
- All materials required for the gathering
- Ritual or ceremonial elements where appropriate
- A meaningful gift for every guest
- Complete facilitation from beginning to end
Gatherings may be created for
- Mother blessings and new-mother gatherings
- Bridal circles
- Birthdays and milestone celebrations
- House blessings
- Full moon or seasonal gatherings
- Life transitions and new beginnings
- Friendship circles
- Private retreat evenings
- Gatherings created simply because women need time together
Created with you. Held for you.
This is not a pre-packaged event brought into your home.
It is an experience shaped around you. You decide what matters, what you want to honour, and what you want the women in the room to feel. I bring the structure, the details, the practices, and the leadership required to make it happen.
You do not have to facilitate. You do not have to prepare activities. You do not have to keep the evening moving or worry about whether everyone is comfortable.
You get to sit inside the experience with the women you invited.
All you need to do is open the door. I'll take care of the rest.

The Little Life Guide Series
Eight workbooks for women who want the practice, not the theory. Written to be used — filled in, marked up, returned to — rather than read once and shelved.
The series launches
Saturday, 8 August 2026
Be first to know when the series opens. This is launch news only — no daily emails.
The series
Written to be used
Each workbook takes a single idea and gives you room to work it through on the page — prompts, space to write, practices to try. Not books to read once and shelve. They stand alone, and they build on each other if you take them in order.
Self-paced throughout. No live calls, no cohort, no schedule to keep up with — you work through them at whatever pace your life allows.
Perspectives of Times of Day
How your energy, appetite, mood and focus shift across a day — and placing things where they actually belong instead of forcing them into the wrong hours.
Self Assessment
An honest inventory of where you are now: constitution, current imbalance, energy, digestion, sleep, stress. The baseline everything else builds on.
Ways Women Abandon Themselves
The quiet, ordinary, socially rewarded ways self-abandonment happens — named specifically enough that you can see them coming.
Seasonal Reset
What to put down and what to pick up when the old rhythm stops fitting and a new one hasn't formed yet.
Emotional Polarity
Moving between opposites — holding on and letting go, giving and receiving, effort and rest — without getting stuck at either end.
Ayurvedic Ways of the Seasons
How food, sleep, movement and self-care shift across the year, and why what supported you in summer stops working by November.
Spring Cleanse
A guided reset for the heaviest part of the year, when the body is most ready to clear what winter gathered.
Fall Cleanse
The autumn counterpart — warmer and more grounding, for when the body needs steadying rather than stripping back.
Still in the works
All eight are released together on 8 August 2026. Full details will be confirmed before launch.
